Time in a bottle...

So where DOES all of our time go? In looking over our fall schedule, between art fairs, craft shows and sporting/band events for teenagers, I've decided that time management needs to be my #1 priority. (naturally, i was in a lack-of-caffeine-induced haze at the time)

Honestly, though...I realised that I often spend 1-3 hours per day on the computer, another 10 hours or more at the office (this honestly should be cut in half .... wonder if my boss would agree!) and some more of that precious commodity engaged in conversation, eating or driving in the car. Since I don't think that law enforcement officials would appreciate me making jewelry while driving and eating is necessary to the act of living..... I have decided that I must limit my online time if I am to meet goals for upcoming shows and orders. Do i say goodbye to facebook and weloveetsy, my streetteam and indiepublic? I think not, but I do need to find a more time effective way of managing all of those groups and applications!

Jim Croche and your wonderful bottle....where are you?

I def know what you mean. It reminds me of when I was in college, all I did was study. And I was never caught up! My time management skills were lacking. *lol* I still find myself very busy some days tho.

Good luck with your time management! ^_^ I'm sure you're way better than I was.

Luckily wife Barb and I are retired; I cannot see how people can balance so many things unless they sleep just 1 or 2 hours a night. Having kids in school only pulls more time away but it is time well spent.

Good luck, Ken

Thanks! I think I need a clone! I have 2 sons going to college in Kentucky and the other two in middle & hs here in michigan. I really need to research how to be in 4 places at the same time! LOL

Seems to me that I am always fighting the clock and the clock always seems to win. If you find a way to better manage on-line time please let me know.

if you ever find the secret to manage your online time more effectively, please do share! I need to join more networking sites, but I need time to work on them too... sigh...

I hear ya, sister! I recently deleted my indiepublic account. Not that it freed up any time because I wasn't spending any time on it anyway.

My son doesn't live at home any more but I still have the 40-45 hour week day job, which really cramps my style. :-(

Willow when you find that magical answer will you please share? Most days after work I am so tired from the stress of the job, that I don't care to create! Oh there has to be an answer!

I agree! I am not sure what the answer is. Just trying to keep up with the same obligations you are. Obviously when "something has to give" it will be time on the computer. Creating jewelry is more important. And my family, friends and day job too! Cloning isn't a bad idea!!

I really had the same thing, particularly when I first started the blog and etsy store....first it was getting multiple pictures of each piece of our inventory, editing, and then listing. And I still find it's easy to be online, which doesn't end up with anything PRODUCED! Teri
